"Poke646" and/or "Poke646: Vendetta" crashes to desktop with the error message "SV_StartSound: volume = [xxx]" (with [xxx] being a random number).

This bug occurs very seldom, but to some extent every Half-Life mod suffers from it: if several pretty loud sound sources in Half-Life overlay, the end volume the engine tries to transmit to the sound card is too high, resulting in the crash.

In order to eliminate this bug, go into the main game menu, then into the "audio" menu and pull back the "sound effects volume" to 10% or less (you can still boost up the main volume in Windows). Here's an image of my own settings for reference.

Please note that this solution might even work for other random crashes, even without the according error message!
